I’d like to add another Aldermanic Candidate forum/debate to the list:
The Ward 9 Candidate Debate to end all debates.
Inglewood Community Hall
Tuesday October 12, 7 pm.
For Inglewood and surrounding residents
I check your schedule and there is not forum for WARD 11.
Do you need a venue I could talk to Rutland Park, or Lakeview Community Assocation?
I would think Lakeview Residents would be very engaged as the ring road is a very big issue in that communities.
Let me know if you need anything from me like schedule etc.
regards,
Wayne Frisch
Thanks, Wayne, will forward your suggestions to the Chief Booker of Forum Venues.
Thanks, Jake. Have you forwarded your info to calgarydemocracy.ca? They have an excellent master list of just about every forum going.
Thanks for holding the forums for the aldermanic races. Lol, one thing I did notice..the ward 3 forum is being held at the incumbent’s church! At least I think so, as he is pictured on his website with a sign out front of this venue. A tough room for me I think!
@Jake B.: I hope I can make it to Inglewood that night for the Oct 12 debate. Thanks for providing the info.
@Wayne: We are just awating final confirmation for the Ward 11 forum venue. It is vey likely going to be Oct 12th.
I have contacted Lakeview as a potential back up just in case.
Thanks for the heads up!
Cheers,
Peter Rishaug
Would it be possible to have some tables set up at these ward forums for respective trustee candidates to display their brochures and to provide a place for people to meet the trustee candidates before/after the forum?
Have you considered making your mayoral forum the mother-of-all forums by having every single mayoral, aldermanic, and public/separate trustee in attendance, each having (small or shared) tables with election materials? That way, people who are not likely to go to an aldermanic/trustee forum, but want to attend a mayoral one will still get a chance to meet their local ward candidates before/after? It would also set you apart from all the other mayoral forums and get more attention.
@Trina H. : Great suggestions. Space and on-site resources permitting, tables / displays are being integrated into our planning for the various Citizen’s Forums. We are also incorporating “meet and greet” opportunities prior to events for more informal one-on-one and small group discussions with candidates. Thanks again for the input!
